Whenever you visit a website, data is collected and exchanged. The Syrian Heritage Archive Project automatically collects and stores data that your browser sends to our server. Before saving, each data record is anonymized by changing the IP address.

The following data is stored for each access/retrieval

  • anonymized IP address,
  • Date and time,
  • page/name of the accessed file,
  • transferred data volume,
  • Message whether the access/retrieval was successful,
  • Type and version of your Internet browser,
  • the operating system used,
  • the previously visited page (referrer URL),
  • Time of the server request.

This data is only used for statistical purposes and to improve the offer and is then deleted. The Syrian Heritage Archive Project has no way of assigning this data to a specific person. This data is not combined with other data sources. The IP numbers are recorded for the duration of the visit to answer queries and are not stored beyond the end of the visit.
No other use or disclosure to third parties take place.
When individual pages are called up, so-called temporary cookies are used to facilitate navigation. These session cookies do not contain any personal data and expire after the session. Techniques such as Java applets or Active-X controls, which make it possible to trace the access behavior of users, are not used.

No personal data is collected or transmitted to third parties when displaying and using the share button. No cookies are also used.

Please note that the Syrian Heritage Archive Project has no influence on the terms of use of the Social Networks. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that operators of the social networks which we use for communication purposes permanently store data outside of Germany and use them for business purposes. We are not aware of the extent to which and for how long the data is stored.
