Translocated Minaret of Balis

The translocated minaret of Balis/Old-Maskana from Ayyubid times around 1200 was rebuilt by the French excavation above the shores of Lake Assad. In the foreground an Umayyad castle of the early 8th century was excavated. Village Houses of Hittin near New-Maskana loom in the background.
